Construction of this new stadium started in March 1998 and was completed for it's inagurel game on September 2000 between Germany and Greece. This stadium is built on the grounds of the old Volksparkstadion and is home to the Hamburg-SV. The FIFA World Cup Stadium has officially qualified os one of the best football grounds in Europe with it's 5-star rating from UEFA.
