Venue Information:
The Frankenstadion was originaly built in 1928. It was reconstructed in 1961, 1987, 1991 and most recently in 2005 for the 2006 World Cup. The most recent reconstruction lowered playing area which allowed an aditional 5 000 seats to be added. A special 300 square metre Mixed Zone was created under the Main stand.
Part of the goal of the reconstruction was to make the stadium more eco-friendly. They achieved this by adding an extensive rainwater collection system which stores the water to be used for watering and sprinkling needs.
